I want to prove something to my older cousin who came here for college and still thinks europe is the best place ever…….UGH >:(
Have you ever been outside of the U.S.? You don’t know what is great about the U.S. until you see other places. IMHO, the best thing about the U.S. is peanut butter
It’s very possible that your cousin’s just homesick. If you haven’t been away from home for a long time before, you might not understand. She might need to have someone listen to her and try to make her feel better, rather than having someone lecture her about how wrong she is.
In your opinion which is the best country to live in in Europe and why?

People have different criteria for what is best. For me, it’s the US, no doubt. But I wouldn’t expect a Canadian or an Australian or even a Slovenian to agree with me. It is a leading question. I won’t bite.

It might be the best for you, it may not be the best for others. Why would you want her to say another country is better then her own would you ever say that about America.

Because………..we say it is. Don’t they have universities in Europe?

It’s all right I guess…..but I don’t have anything to compare it to

Been in both positions.

America is awesome. We’ve got it all…city, country, nature, good food, affordable living, stable economy, more freedoms than most any other country.

U.S.A. all the way!
Questions like yours tend to attract obnoxious responses, but you got some great answers!
People who move somewhere very different go through a cycle of emotional adjustment. First (usually for a few months), everyone & everything is new and interesting. Then they go through a period when everyone & everything is annoying and stupid. It is a form of homesickness and can be aggravated by other problems the person may be having. Eventually, they make the adjustment and accept the new place for whatever it is.
It sounds like your cousin in in stage 2. You need to just help them get through it rather than "proving" anything about the USA.
Good luck!

Have to agree with the first poster in this thread. Been living in Eastern Europe for a little over a year and it’s not only peanut butter I miss (and there is NO grape jelly to be found anywhere!), but it ranks up there with good old fashioned Band-Aids that actually stick, safety pins that don’t break or bend when you try to use them, chicken breasts on sale for 1.99 a pound (try about $5 a pound here), no great sales like in NY, clothing is outrageously expensive, food and produce is just as expensive as in NY, electric bills are about 25% HIGHER than NY, finding a veterinarian who actually does more than farm animal insemination is also a trip.
Yes, I am starting to get homesick for NY and may be back by the end of the year. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side, and I certainly miss the mix of races, religion and cultures of the US.
Europe is a nice place to visit, but there is no place like NY.
everyone has there own opinon on which is the best country. I been leaving in the U.S for almost 13 years and i’m from Spain. I visit Spain every summer and I honestly love Spain and in my opinion it the best country. Spain has a lot of amazing views. The food is delicious and most importantly healthy unlike the U.S fast food. Europeans have a different life style compared to U.S and i definatly perfer the european lifestyle. Everytime I visit Spain i always notice that I never see people walking down the street with a sandwich on there hand unlkie in the U.S that is a very normal thing to do. In U.S you always see someone walk down the street with a DunkinDonuts/Starbuck’s coffee on there hand and they are walking like if someone is chasing after them. In europe people are more calm, that doesn’t mean that they are not active becuase they definatly are, they just know how to live life and have fun. Also the parties in Spain are so much different from here, in Spain they know what the real party is and it amazing. The beaches are beautiful and there isnt all the polution that we have here in U.S. In the summer time you can actual breath without any dificulty and it absolutly an amazing feeling. I love Spain all the way. VIVA ESPA~NA
hopefully i’ll move back to my country after im done with college
