Why are all these Senators and Congressmen deciding to retire or not to run for re-election?

by admin on February 16, 2010

Evan Bayh announced that he is retiring – joining a growing number of "no-shows" for the November election.

Who else do you think will join them? and if Obama’s agenda is so good for the country, and he’s doing such a ‘great job cleaning up the mess of his predecessor’ (their words, not mine), then why would all these Dems jump ship?

They’ve probably looked at their polling numbers and don’t want to suffer the humiliation of defeat.

Voters have every right to be angry and that anger will be demonstrated in Nov. Hopefully it’s not just the Dems who are aware of this but many of the neocons also need to go. It’s time to clean house and to revitalize this country.

why is the USA the best country?

They know they’re going down, down, down the drain and they can thank their supreme messiah who continues to disrespect all American citizens.

The incumbents are screwed and they know it. The downside of them retiring is the electorate who are inclined to vote democrat will see a new face on the ballot and will again be fooled into thinking this new face will be a better candidate than the republican candidate with a superior, conservative-minded platform. It’s their tactic because they know they can’t win with the status quo.

A smart player knows when to pull out of the game as a winner. A lot of incumbents are going to be put under a microscope & their shady dealing won’t look to good to the electorate.

Some of these men have been made extraordinarily wealthy this year.

Some know they cut their own political throats with Americans.

Some just know it is time.

Well why not? The laugh is on US. They can sit home and collect a fat paycheck for life, free health care etc. after "working" for a few years. All courtesy of us gullible working stiffs. Why stick around when they can take the money and run?

Politics…best scam in history.

You’ll see more of this going on, and don’t be surprised to see some of them switching parties. You’ll be amazed at how quickly some of them will suddenly become conservative if they think it will enhance their chances of re-election.

They know they are doomed in Nov. I do not think all of them really like what Obama, Pelosi and Reid are doing. There is nothing they can do but follow what they say or else. Pelosi knows how to cut off at knee.
I just hope we can find some real patriots to step up too the plate.

Pardon the pun, but "they know the party’s over."

Hopefully, Barbara Boxer will drop out next.

They’re jumping ship because of the Massachusetts Massacre, tea party movement, and the exposing of the progressive attempted takeover. The American people are being heard.

Because they know that due to their policies we are in the midst of a depression and their chances of being reelected are slim to none

I’m going to take a wild guess that it has to do with money. These incumbents know that if they lose their bids for reelection they will be in debt to their campaign contributors. Since they also know they don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning, why run at all? Better to bow out gracefully and never have the stigma of losing an election attached to their name. They can still work in government or the private sector and earn a good living, and they will never be asked why they think their opponent made mincemeat out of them at the polls. And of course whether they choose to work again or not, they still get their government benefits for life. Yes, it’s unfortunate we have to pay for this, but we will never again have to put up with their voting habits. It’s a win/win, for us and for them. How American.

Follow the money. Evan Bayh is leaving because he has 13 million in his political war chest and he doesn’t want to waste it in a losing attempt at contuinued political power.

BECAUSE OF:

NODEMS 2010
NOBAMA 2012

Obama is the shepherd I did not want.
He leadeth me beside the still factories.
He restoreth my faith in the Republican party.
He guideth me in the path of unemployment for his party’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the bread line,
I shall fear no hunger, for his bailouts are with me.
He has anointed my income with taxes,
My expenses runneth over.
Surely, poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will live in a mortgaged home forever.

for four thousand years, politicians have been reading the writing on the wall. The book of Daniel tells abiout how it started in Babylon: with the words Mene, Mene, Tekel, Pharson scratched into the wall. . The words mean get out of town or get your a** whipped, loosely translated, of course The Democrats are at least as intelligent as the Babylonians and are getting out of town before the proverbial a**whipping..

For some, polls show they don’t have a prayer of winning. I’m not so sure about Bayh. I think he is just sick of it all. I don’t blame him.

Ever noticed how when the light shines on cockroaches, that they run and hide?

They are doing the cowardly thing, and running before they get defeated in their next election. The win in MA a couple of weeks ago has the Dems running scared. Many of them see that the American public is sick and tired of the way the Dems are running things, and therefore will NOT vote Democratic again. This scares them. They are like rats leaving a sinking ship – and I think it is hilarious!
