What is the best high school home school program if I live out of the country?

by admin on September 17, 2008

I live out of the country (Mexico) and I want to home school. Im in 10th grade. What is the best homeschooling program?

Are you a USA expatriate? If so, then you can follow USA education laws for your "home". If you are a Mexican citizen, then you need to find out the laws on HS'ing in Mexico, which may not include credit for doing an American home school program.

I work for missionaries in Asia and their high schooler has used Northstar Academy for three years. They work with many international students:

(the site won't come up for me – perhaps they're having server issues)

What is the best country in Central Europe to live in?

You live out of the country? Do you mean you live in the country? There are people in this forum from all over the world, so I'm not sure if you mean you don't live in the US or if you mean you live in the country.

By program, do you mean a distance learning school or just a prepackaged set of books? I don't know about anything for distance learning, but for books or computer-based programs, you could try A Beka, Alpha Omega, Sonlight and unfortunately I've forgotten some others. But those would be starting places.

Another great one to look into is WorldWide IDEA Private Academy, http://www.worldwide-idea.org/ – they are fully accredited in the U.S. and serve American families (many of them military-sponsored) all over the globe.
