Hi. I'm Junnie presently working in United Arab Emirates as Event Planner, or a wedding stage designer for 4years. I'm originally from Philippines. Its my dream to live and work in Canada or Australia. Any one have knwledge, experience or idea which country is best to live and work and also which country is very easy, cheap and fast to get Visa? What kind of visa I need to take? And How o get this kind of Visa? Any suggestion is a big help to me. Thank you very much.
i totally agree with the first poster. canada is no place for you, it's cold and expensive. a terrible place. i suggest Dubai, or yeah even Australia. i hear europe has a shortage of wedding stage designers.

Canada sucks. It's cold, expensive, dirty and stupid. Old sick people everywhere because of the aging population. Guess what, they're not getting younger. For you I recommend either the UAR or Australia for sure. Stay the h11 from Canada. Also, Philippines would probably be best if u have a chance to go there.

Its very hard to get a visa to australia especially if you want to live here. You need to proove you have the skills to benefit the economy

Australia has much better weather but I'm afraid that your skills as a wedding/event planner or designer are not listed on any of our required occupations lists so you would not be able to get an Australian immigration visa.
Following is the list on which your occupation must be for you to have any chance of getting a visa:

Wedding Stage Designer and Event Planner – this is not a skill that is in demand in either country – therefore I seriously doubt you will be eligible to immigrate as a skilled worker.
Neither country is very easy, cheap or fast to get Visa!!!!
Australia is very strict and Canada can take a long time from Asia – 5 to 6 years is quite normal.

I have lived/travelled to 68 countries. Canada & Australia are certainly 2 of the best countries to visit or live in. Canada is always ranked the #1 country to live in by the UN. Vancouver is ranked as one of the top 3 cities in the world.
Canada’s west coast is not cold, and it doesn’t even really snow in Vancouver or Victoria. The winter temp doesn’t drop below freezing (okay, cold if you are from the middle east, but not cold by Northern Countries Standards). The middle of the country is cold in winter and really hot in summer. Toronto has 2 cold months in the winter with a bit of snow. Montreal & Ottawa have winter and are cold in winter. In summer, all these cities are 30+ celcius.
Australia is great too. Very nice warm weather all the time, great people, nice place to live also. Melbourne is great to live in and work.
Funny thing, a LOT of Australians move to the west coast of Canada! So many, that sometimes you wonder what country you are in (in Whistler BC, there are more Australians than Canadians!).
Neither country is cheap, but they have very high qualities of life.
i get the feeling that australia is more racist, but they do have much better weather. canada is easier to get residency in. i have known people who spoke little english at all but have gotten permanent residency.
#7 has obviously never visited Australia, we are one of the most un-racist countries in the world, the fact that we are so multicultural makes this the case… people just think we are because of what happened back in the 1700s.. BLAME THE BRITISH FOR THAT we have moved along way since then, Do you think all Germans hate jews? i would hope not. I cant stand people that just assume and stereotype a race or country.
I have lived in canada my whole life and have traveled all over Aisa, Australia, the US and more. I think that Canada and Australia are the best counties in the world and I doubt that #1 has ever been to Canada with a ridiculous ignorant statement like that. Canada is cold and some people like that. If you dont like the cold dont move here but not all parts are cold and not all parts are expensive. It is a pretty big place to be so generic. There is not old sick people everywhere and there are a lot of places that are entirely young people. #1 sounds like a bitter person who probably couldnt get a visa and is now mad. Australia and Canada are both great places with great people and if you want to decide i would pick by the climate. I would ask #1 where he/she is from and then NEVER go there.
canada fo sure and specialy montreal or Bc but mostly in montreal .. but its very a cheap country compared to mexico , America i find america very very very Expensive but the thing is there is stuff in america that we dont have in canada like TV program .. racist america… whathever , there is no racist at all in canada my mom is black andd my dad is native and i never got 1sec inuslted nowday but in the past it was terrible to the native… but now its alright, but if your kids like snowboarding come in montreal im not saynigg its very cold , but there is alot of mountain around where you can do snowboard that nice , but in the city its not that cold if you have a coat, but if you live in a city good luck finding an appartement… i live in the capital of Quebec which the name is Quebec and its pretty cool because there is always appartement out there..
canada is best
What about job situation in Canada? I am French Finnish European and I just got my permanent residence visa for Quebec but I am still wondering if I should go to Canada. They seem to experience a high level of unemployement. I have a Masters degree in international trade and 1 year experience in the field. I am still thinking moving to Asia, China would be better on the long run…
Definitely Australia! It has amazing cities like Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane. Beautiful climate, generally warm/hot in the north, and cool in the south (though gets very warm in summer). You’ve got Melbourne – Sports capital of the world, and the fashion, arts & entertainment, culture, cafe, sport, shopping, IT capitals of Australia. Relaxed and sunny cities like Perth. Warm and laid back cities like Brisbane (though it can rain quite a bit there). Sydney and its harbour. And other great places.
Melbourne is constantly ranked in the top 3 most liveable cities in the world, and Perth, Brisbane and Sydney are usually ranked in the top 10.
Australia is also ranked as the 2nd best country to live in, after France.
Either way, you can find exactly what you are looking for in Australia. We have something for everyone.
Im thinking to relocate with my fiance and our 2,6 year olds twins to Canada work for two to three years and back to RSA to do business, anyone who know RSA can i survive weather with the kids and will it worth a while to be there for those years, are the people there nice to live and work with
How can a person from a developing country get a job in canada.Am a university graduate with a bachelors in Business Administration.
I am from Greece and i would like to remove to Australia. I have a bachelor in Mechanical Engineering and a master in Mechatronics. I think Australia at this moment is the best choice for skilled immigrants worldwide. Correct?
regarding the issue of canada and australia which is the best country to live and work for me i have not been to either of the countries but from my search on both countries the cost of housing for average rent 2 bedroom apartment in ottawa canada is 690 CAD. while australia is upto 300 AUD per week. from my own opinion australia is more expensive than canada!
sorry i mean in ottawa canada is 690 canadian dollars per month for 2 bedroom apartment while in australia is about 300 australian dollars per week giving the total of approximate 1200 australian dollars per month. i know the wage in australia per hr is higher than in canada but the income tax is also higher in australia! but all i know is that the two countries are good and they the best to live and work in the world for now. kooje from lagos-NIGERIA
I live in Canada for a year already and I have to tell you this. It is not easy for the newcomers to settle at first, maybe even for the first 4-6 years. Yes, there is myth about how country needs highly qualified professionals etc, but it is actually quite hard to find a job for your profession. There is high competition here and english is a must! Do not believe the stories about doctors-immigrants living good life. For the first 5-6 years -they are taxi drivers or work in call centres. It is easier to get a job here if educated here, so new immigrants prepare for hard work and study at least for 2-3 years. Many complitely change theyr careers to get into work fors faster. Accomodation is also not the cheepest one unless living in small town. So think carefully before coming to canada. Many immigrants regret it badly but their pride stops them for going back to homecountires.
Australia is by far the best. Firstly its warm. Secondly its got many different terrains and lastly kangaroos are only wild in AUSTRALIA!!!
There are people who do well in Canada, but I don’t know them personally. I see them with big houses and nice cars, and wonder what the hell I’m doing wrong. Been to university and college, and now I make $16,000 a year. I hate this damn country!!! HATE IT!!!!! Don’t come, it would be the worst mistake of your life!
and canada which part have job and good life not expanicev becuas i saty montrial is not expancive but to cold and no work bigh problam

Hello,
Well in the above discuss for which country is good when compared between Australia/Canada.
It would be definitly australia only bcoz of the whether but their tax, visa policy are very bad.
Firstly I have been In Sydney for 4yrs and completed my Master in Professional Accounting from Universty Of Ballarat as my visa status was under MRT I filed for Permanent Residency for Australia offshore on august 30th 2007, then had to move back to india due to strict visa rules in Australia on august 30th 2007.
Secondly I thought I will get PR-permanent Residency in 12- 18 months. but i get a response in 2010 stating that due to recession and unemployment in Australia they are refunding my money even after pursuing a Master from Australia and scoring IELTS band of 6.5 was of no use I had to re-start my life in India which is frustrating this is completely unfair process or rules Implied by Australia Immigration office for Australian Government, Immigrants are Sourse of Income.
Moral of the story search for a country whose VISA & tax policy are good enough for people to qualify which can make your life easy.
But Iam unaware of Canada……… ….is it good to try for Canada….how are the job opportunity….for professionals and odd jobs in Canada. PLS SUGGEST!!!!!
Any suggestion ——–pls

Canada is probably the BEST country for REFUGEE immigrants and certainly the WORST country for SKILLED immigrants. If you are a refugee, you get free house, free medical treatment, free transportation and monthly salary of $500 and you don’t need to have any education or qualifications. However, if you are a SKILLED professional, your skills and education will not be recognized even after your credentials have been evaluated by World Educational Services (WES) and you have written all the Canadian professional exams, this is because you will generally lack the CANADIAN EXPERIENCE .
As a SKILLED professional, you can still immigrate to Canada because of the CITIZENSHIP (it takes just 3 years), but be prepared to work in the factory or take some courses, write exams and do some training to get a licence in order to get a decent job like SECURITY GUARD. If you are a foreign trained SKILLED professional in Canada, your biggest challenge is that you don’t have CANADIAN EXPERIENCE, without which you can not get a job in your SKILLED PROFESSION, and without a JOB in Canada, you can not get CANADIAN EXPERIENCE! However, if you have a lot of money that can sustain you for 2 years at the rate of $2500 – $3000/month then you may be able to get a VOLUNTEER position (provided you have a good NETWORK) where you can acquire the CANADIAN EXPERIENCE. After becoming a citizen, you can generally move to USA where your SKILLS and foreign experience will not be discriminated against, provided you can do the job. (Canadian Employers are not interested in your ability to do the job).
My advice to foreign SKILLED PROFESSIONALS who intend to immigrate to Canada is this => Before you “immigrate” to Canada, DON’T RESIGN from your JOB, DON’T SELL or give out your properties, DON”T make LONG term plans, just come to Canada and experience the place for yourself before making LONG TERM plans. If your experience differ from what you read here, then you are one of the privilege 3% of new immigrants in Canada, but if you experience the same, you will be in a better position to decide whether you want to go back home and continue with your job like smart immigrants or you want to stay back and take your chance.
As a people, Canadians are nice people, they are quite friendly. If you are hungry, they have food banks; if you don’t have home, they have shelters; but if you need a job, then only your NETWORK can help. (Your NETWORK is the people you know)
The greatest MISTAKES most immigrants make is that they quit their good jobs in their home country, sell off or give out their properties and travel to Canada with the hope and good intentions of realizing their dreams in Canada, only to be shocked by what await them, and they find it difficult to go back to their home countries and start afresh to look for job, accommodation etc because they don’t want to appear as failures.
A WORD IS ENOUGH FOR THE WISE – LOOK BEFORE YOU LEAP!
for people that say Canada suck well never been there in there life anyway just look it up and you well find that Canada is one of the best place in the world to live in and 80% of movies that you see on film are made in BC but American are just to patriotic to clam they made those movies in Canada any way just Google Canada and you well see it’s not cold or boring place lot more things to do and enjoy then the US
