what is the best country in europe to live in now?

Living in Ireland at the moment and its pretty gloomy

Was wondering what were the countryside least hit by recession (or are they all mainly the same?)

Considering cost of living/jobs/weather all main things what are good euro countrys to live in?
Ps if I am Irish can I live and work in any eu country ?

I would have to say Denmark or Finland is the best place to live in Europe right now
Finland has work and so does Denmark, now if you were moving to Russia, then that would be a problem because Russia does not have that many jobs and they are hurting for money over there, same thing happening in Ukraine also.
France and Italy might be expensive to live in too. Norway is not too bad.

  1. Gloomy is the last word I’d use to describe the Irish countryside.

  2. I think Germany and France, except for the Muslim problem. The economies are really good though!

  4. I disagree with miss gangster cat regarding Ukraine. That country is doing pretty well compared to the UK And there are a hell of a lot of construction projects taking place over there at the moment . The problem is with working in Ukraine is that you need a settlement visa to work there and you can not apply for that until you have been there 90 days.
The best countries in Europe to live in are obviously the scandinavian countries, but also Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and France.
If you can speak any of the european languages then my advice is to get out of Ireland or the UK and get abroad where there is more opportunity and better quality of life.

    1. I disagree. My younger relatives in Ukraine are finding it hard to find work – and they are all educated. They are thinking of moving abroad. One has already moved to the US. Even the older generation are having problems with not only lack of work, pensions and the hike in prices.

  5. None, they all have Muslim populations, and Roma gypsies, from Finland to Spain

  6. Look Brian, first , I’m gay but there is no reason to condemn people for their religion. U should know the difference between a Muslim and an islamist ! in holland, muslims support gay community while some christians are so discriminating them, though!! u know, don’t execute people for their beliefs ;))

  7. Well I say, for now Europe is not the best place to live, I say it’s better to live in one of the BRIC countries, I’m living in Brazil now and the uneployment rate is about 5.7% which is quite low, and these numbers are for unqualified people, but for qualified people there is no unenployment. But my sugestion take Portuguese so that you can communicate with the people.
