Depends what you want.

There are a large number of expats in Mexico:

how’s your Spanish?

I’m told that Costa Rica has a fine and welcoming policy toward American retirees, as well as the best health care system in Central America and a long history of political stability. They’ll even let you learn Spanish while you’re there.

Take a look at American Samoa- white sandy beaches, nice people, and you’re still technically in the U.S.!

My personal choice would be Thailand, but I’m sure the other places suggested would be equally nice, depending on what your preferences and needs are.

If I had to pick I would go with Argentina over Mexico. Not as third worldish, with the same low prices.

Mexico. All the Mexicans are here so there should be plenty of jobs over there.
