England. I hear they named their country after their language.

My guess would be China because America does so much business with them, you'd think they would have some pretty good universities that teach English.

If you wanted to learn more about English, you would want to go to England. Thats where the English language originated. But you can also just go the US. you can learn to speak anylanguage there, but i would stick with England.

I live in Asia and why would I goto America or elsewhere when my country is more than proficient and our literacy rate is much higher than most of the ignorant Americans.

England. That's where English started. Plus they have a better culture or at least more of it (I think) maybe it's cuz I live in the US and wish I could go to England, but yeah… England has lots of great things there to learn about English. I know someone who studied English there for like 9 weeks and she liked it.

I have taught in 5 countries and 4 of them in Asia. It does not depend on the country but the teacher.
If you like to party, go to Thailand were you can party and swim all year round. If you want a quiet place to study, Taiwan is good. Not much partying and the beaches are dirty.
China is OK if you can put up with the honking and bad traffic because the people can't drive.

I'd recommend Australia. English is a pretty standard language since it's universal. Plus Australia is next door, so the cost to learn english is pretty cheap if you compare studying abroad in another english speaking country. I live in the US, but it's not neccesary to spend too much money in something pretty standard like english. It's like learning how to drive in U.K and Brazil

If you want to study in Asia, of course your best bet is Hong Kong, which is Asia's own England. You can also go to Singapore, which has a very strong western (particularly English) culture. India is also very good for your purpose. But if you want to study overseas, then you must be heading to Britain or U S. Going to Africa? Then your best bet would be South Africa, Nigeria and Ghana. So go ahead and make your choice.

People are saying England, but don't realize that it's more expensive and more difficult there to go to school. America is a better choice because we have cheaper (but still good) schools, more opportunities and a wider variety of people to come into contact with.

Why not Singapore where English is widely spoken and many from other countries are learning English here too.
