Is everyone now moving to Norway, Australia & Iceland since they were named the best countries to live in 2009?
….or Canada, Ireland, Netherlands, Sweden, France, Switzerland, Japan which also made the Top 10 Quality of Life Countries?

most of those countries are good to live in because of tight immigration laws, canada has toughened up and australia is very difficult to get into as is japan and switzerland

best and worst countries to live in?
Best countries to live in for me would be European countries. I think UK is best country in world to live in due to its strong economy, life expectancy, etc.

For worst, probably some war torn African country or maybe Palestine. What do you guys think?

Norway is number 1. It is barely a neighborhood at just over 4 million people with strict immigration policies that hoards a wealth of oil.

That such diverse nations are not divided up into categories according to size and population is a statistical absurdity that could only be employed by an absurd organization like the UN.

The more important statistic is trending. Concern yourself with where your nation is going rather than its standing relative to a glorified commune like Norway.

So what type of rubric does UN use to rank nations?

The UN bases it on things such as the economy, the mortality rate, how prevalent AIDS is in that country, and how clean the environment is, among other things.
