Will you have health insurance when you retire? Will this country ever need a unified Health Care system?

Most companies nowadays don't pay for Health Insurance for retirees. So when you are ready to retire and do not have company backed Health Care, will a unified system be better?
It needs health care now.
Immigrants, do you like to go back to your home country when you retire?

They tell me I will have coverage after retirement..that remains to be seen…

It's not so much a question of need as it is the ability to do it. Countries that have universal health-care now are either smaller or have a different & higher tax system than we do. It is not a simple yes or no question.

Yes I will, it's called veterans benefits and I got them by being in the military. In fact, I'm using them now and they will still be there when I retire in a few years.

When you turn 65 you are eligible for medicare part A. That is the socialized health care system offered in the United States. It is similar to Canada's system in that you may then purchase private insurance to fill the gaps in the socialized plan, like part D prescription coverage, medicare supplemental policies, dental, and medicare part B (which is paid to the government) to cover physician services.
