Where is the best country to live ?
Post date: January 7th, 2009I'm really getting sick of the United States. Where is the best country to live ? Where are Americans welcome ? Where is it easy to find a good job abroad, pay their taxes and become a citizen ?
Hey, come to Germany, we need some more good people
What do you think is the best country to live in?
« I left N.America to live in Asia when the Iraq war started…would you consider doing the same? our country was being run by a dick a bush and a colon, why did he retire? »

Well if you're "sick of the United States," why don't you go live in Mexico? Or, better yet: Iran, N. Korea, Syria, Jordan, Saudia Arabia, Somolia, Cuba, etc.?

I think France might be the place for you. They'll tell you how to live, tax you grossly and you won't ever have to worry about living in a country where people disagree again. You sound like someone who would love for America to become a socialist state. See ya.

I'm an American citizen, but when I was 22, moved to Sweden for a summer. That summer turned into a year. I love it here! 4 weeks mandatory vacation, good jobs, not too difficult to become a citizen, and nearly everyone speaks english.

New Zealand, Costa Rica, France is pretty nice too. Israel is amazing too for that matter but Turkey is not a bad place either. these are easy places to live, let live and stay under the radar.

France has the best working conditions and social benefits, mandatory 6 week holiday minimum, free education, health care……..
Canada is closer and though I'm bias, I prefer it. English is the dominant language and it's almost as worker friendly as France.
Recently, our Supreme Court ruled the govt may not interfere in contract negotiations between union and employer, EVER. So the times are going to get better for the union members in Canada. Therefore the private sector will improve, as they must to compete, or become unionized.
It's such a gift, knowing our middle class has the Supreme Court guarding their interests. It was looking really bad for a few years there.
Within Canada, I'd have to say I prefer the west coast. I think it depends on the type of community you prefer.
The west is more metropolitan and a bit costly, but absolutely spectacular. We moved here from Ontario in 87, and never looked backed. Ontario is lovely and has lots of large metro areas, and loads of country, lake and cottage country, it just doesn't have the weather of the west coast. It's extremely cold in the winter and extremely hot and muggy in summer.
BC's west coast is mild and VERY rainy in winter and lovely from March to October or November. Summer hovers around 75-78 and it's green all year round. If you want snow, head to the slopes just a few miles to the north of Vancouver.
Anyway, if you want more personal experience info, I've seen everything between BC and Ontario on repeated trips home to see family. Email if you want more info on Canada

trebor namyl hcaeb: you sound like you want peple to live like mangy dogs and be happy with their scraps,
papaz71: you talk about what you know nothing about, have you even been to france? how is this for social democracy: 30 days of guaranteed vacation time (no matter the job, company, etc.), unlimited sick days, full child care, social workers who come to help new parents adjust to the strains and challenges of child-rearing, and a ridiculously long maternity leave. really. you are just a child patriot spouting off your mouth.

Have you ever thought about getting in with a company that is international adn traverling to job site with them. that way you get to stay in one place for 6 mounths or so then move on. do that for a few years adn if you find a place that you like better then the rest. move there. it will work out nice, the job site you were sent to will be more then happy to give you a job when they find out that you helped set-up the jobsite. That is what i did and i have been all around the world with my job.
And done get on me about my spelling, i work as an engineer, ans we dont care how it is spelt just if it works. so all you office workers back off. we have better things to do.

im not going to say an opinion that you should move to canada because of the scenery like many people above are.. but i say canada is the best because of the conveniant health care that is free, the people are extremely friendly, (well there are always bad apples where ever you go)but if you vacation in canada as a canadian, it is beautiful, the canadian geese are everywhere, deer are everywhere, when you go up north, there are moose, bears, i live the the most southern part of canada, i live in corunna ontario, but i have a great iew of the saint clair river, and after a short short ride, i am at lake huron, one of the 5 great lakes. i also suggest visiting niagara falls, the place has haunted houses and other cool stuff, (marine land… woooo..
and the great wolf lodge, aha, the falls are cool 2. also muscoka, haliburton area is beautiful. canada is wonderful

Depends on just how sick you are of the States. I moved to Canada in 2000 (for job reasons, not political or social ones), and have fallen in love with it. My wife, daughter and I are all dual citizens now, and plan on staying permanently.
In everyday life, it really is very similar to the U.S. (Just remember to add “eh?” to every sentence.) People are nicer (a huge generalization, sure, but I’ve found it to be true). Taxes are higher here, but medical care and social services are MUCH better. The Conservative Party is still in power, but that seems likely to change at the next election—and in any case Canada’s conservatives are nowhere near as psychopathic as American conservatives.
Good luck, wherever you land.

Try Bali, Indonesia. Bali is not a country, just a big island in Indonesia. Now it is mixed well between western and eastern culture. Very close to Australia, so if u miss western civilization, just fly in about 2 hours.

Norway: It´s where you wanna live.
1: is ranked the best country to live in for the 6th time by the UN.
2: Minimum wage for 18 year olds and older is $19 an hour. (As a college student I have three extra jobs in which I earn between $19 and $25 an hour and pay 5 % taxes on 2 of them , no taxes on the third job.)
3: College is free.
4: Health care is free. (Being pregnant, injured or terminally sick isn´t going to bankrupt you, while in the states an Ambulance will bankrupt you!!)
5: Our democracy is one of the best working democracies in the world.
6: I get high tax returns and vacation money every summer.
7: BEAUTIFUL coastlines, mountains, fjords and countrysides.
8: It´s in Northern Europe with a great view towards all those great places that hold what we lack: the beaches and tropical heat of Spain, Italia, France, Greece…
9: NO GUNS – cops don´t even get to wear guns!
AND: le piece de resistance: GREAT salmon, in fact the BEST salmon- if you ask the food- knowers of the world.
Come on over and live the good life

I hate living in the U.S.A. it sucks. I was born hear and wish I wasn’t. Everyone is greedy , self centered. You don’t get payed shit for anything, every thing is illegal or will be. No jobs it costs an arm and a legto try and go to school. housing is expensive. The government suck and should be changed completly since it is all corupt. Fuck the usa. Norway hear I come.

I believe the best place to live if you are American is Australia it is a very cultural place that is now ranked 2nd in the world for the best place to live , has good cities , sites and landmarks and the main language is English. And is very welcoming and friendly

hmm I am naturalized American citizen, living here on and off for 11 years. I have two more european citizenships, and thank god for that
. I love europe, and there are many countries to visit, but if you plan to live there, there are many factors you need to consider. What do you want to do with your life? or what do you like for fun? or would you bring your family there? For example norway, sweden and other northern european countries are nice and quiet, but that’s it! They don’t offer much variety. Countries like England (preferably London), France, Spain (right now not good for jobs), Switzerland (Geneva preferably), Germany (Berlin is nice),Belgium (Brussels) are the countries that offer a lot of variety when it comes to quality of life. You can have fun, raise a family, find a good job, etc. Middle Eastern Countries and Africa are NO NO for me! Have friends that tried to live in a a bit “cultured” Dubai and didn’t go so well (laws are still conservative-muslim). Canada is nice. I love Montreal and Vancouver. They have some charm, good nightlife and nice nature
. Its up to you to decide so good luck!

I’d say I love France, but the United States is still the best place in the world to live. Best economic and intellectual opportunity, most friendly to business, and most culturally diverse. If you can’t find everything you’re looking for in the U.S., you’ve got no place else to look.
November 23rd, 2009 at 1:30 pm
australia, of course!

Norway too cold, maybe a lovely place to live but too much in the deep freeze. France is a lovely country with a lovely way of life but you are taxed to the extreme in everyway possible, just like in the UK. I cannot comment on America, never been and never will, to go to a country where guns are legall, no thanks….most of the people are nuts so I dont blame you wanting to get out before you get blown up. Eastern Europe, Middle East, Asia, again too many Muslims..you may get blown up…ok if you want to be around them. I too am looking for a safe haven, its called SANCTUARY…but I am afraid it doesn’t exist..hope you find what you are looking for..good luck…

I used to live in Norway and I hated EVERY MINUTE of it. It is very expensive but they have an awesome universal health coverage. Weather absolutely SUCKS. Comparing to U.S. & Canada, standard of living is way below them. After living here in U.S. for over 20 years, I feel the same as you do. I am ready to move back to Europe but not Norway, Sweden or Denmark. Trust me on this. Move to New Zealand or Australia period. They speak English, jobs are pretty good (you get paid more than U.S.)weather is fantastic.. truly heaven.
February 23rd, 2010 at 11:24 pm
The best country to live in these days and in the days to come is Brazil. It is quickly becoming a developed country, specially in the south. People is amazing. They enjoy life as it is and make you feel at home. Carnivals are quite simply the biggest party on earth. The turnover maybe the language, americans are not likely to speak portuguese in a 21 day crash course. But trust me come here for a vacation and you’ll fall in love with these place. cheers.

First of all if you live in U.S.A. you definitely don’t want Canada or Mexico because it’s gonna all become one (North American Union)with a ONE currency called “Amero”.I was born here an it just keeps on getting worse an WORSE FASTTT!!!!! Getting sick of it all myself, I just wish I had the money to leave!! Especially B4 this country doe’s another “false flag” terrorist scam on us like the WTC’s (World Trade Centers)and declares Martial Law on us all. Then it’s off to the FEMA CAMPS WE GO!!! First it was the European Union, there trying to get the North American Union going(Canada,U.S.& Mexico) then lastly on there agenda will be the Asian Union. Three Unions that will all eventually work together in hopes of achieving a “One World Government” just wait it’s coming. Those freaking elitist cronies called Builderburg Group. The people that run this country an meet in secret at fancy hotels where they kick everyone out an close the WHOLE building down with secret service guards/police everywhere…Head leaders from other countries meet an plan what’s gonna happen in the following year to come.(All the crap we here on the media, an the media is in with them!!) These people are worse than Hitler, they wanna run an control the whole world!!(Mass depopulation,Pagan worshiping like at the Bohemian Club in California with rituals an sacrifices an a 40′ stone “Owl” an ON!!!) Truly sickening, it really is…If I did have some money to move I’m still not sure where I’d go but,I do know it wouldn’t be anywhere within those “three” unions that there trying to get. An Australia & N.Z. watch out a lot of the big wigs I here will eventually an some already have moved to N.Z.. But ahhh none of this might not matter in a couple of years(2012) when the 3mile high Tsunami’s hit this planet. Just watch “2012-An Awakening”. I’m just hoping for “NO MARTIAL LAW” till then so I can try an enjoy what’s left of my life till Dec.21st 2012. Really don’t want to be in the FEMA/Halliburton Built Camps for two years till the crap hits the fan!!!
March 21st, 2010 at 10:43 pm
@ 40, what a nut. lol
Seriously though, Australia is the best place to live by a million miles. Best climate, low population, low crime, true democracy. Anyone who says Norway or some other freezing god forsaken hole needs to visit Sydney.
March 27th, 2010 at 8:10 am
You people must be joking when you say Australia has a “wonderful climate”!
I live in Canberra and over half the year is 30-40 degree (Celcius) weather. Then in Winter you get negative temperatures in the morning but with absolutely NO SNOW (because it warms up during the day)! I feel short changed.
Further north (Sydney and Brisbane) it’s also not peachy. Constant, disgusting, sticky humidity…(makes it hard to sleep at night).
I might however be a little biased, since I consider 18 Degrees the perfect Summer temperature.
All this being said, Australia is an VERY good and safe place to live. But if you like beautiful trees, green grass and not atrociously hot weather look elsewhere!
April 17th, 2010 at 9:11 pm
Australia is an amazing country, with a nice climate, and for your information Canberra is one of the hottest places in Australia, i live in Blacktown in Sydney and yes somedays it is very humid but that’s just another topic to share with your friendly neighbors and friends. Australia also has one of the best harbours and beaches in the world. Australia has some depressing days though when it comes to news but that only enriches the Australian spirit, and we are very multicultural, you’ll learn alot of different cultures. I CAN’T STAND PEOPLE CURSING THEIR OWN COUNTRY.
jonathan you should be ashamed for focusing on the negatives of the great and mighty land down under. GO NSW!!!
April 26th, 2010 at 2:33 pm
I used to believe that the US was the perfect place to live. Unfortunately the current socialist movement that has been allowed to creep in is destroying that image. So much for “One nation under God”. I am now also looking for somewhere that has a democratic style of government, and no socialized health care. A place where Christian Americans can feel comfortable. Maybe it is time for Texas to become its own country. Good weather overall, Christian values, democratic society and guns allowed. Maybe it is time for them to shut down their borders, and go it alone. Better yet, maybe we need to take the US back to what it was originally intended to be. Then none of us would have to move.
May 1st, 2010 at 10:18 pm
It is really interesting how so many people are mentioning New Zealand as the best country to live in. Have you asked the 4000+ kiwis who move overseas every month why they are leaving “paradise” for some “hell holes” like US, UK and Australia ? Simple…opportunities, jobs, money and escape from a disgusting Politically correctness policy that runs this country.
If you have plenty of money that’s fine. Come to New Zealand, buy a house in the middle of nowhere, no worries about politics, discrimination, increasing tax, racial division, etc..
Are you young, need a job and is looking for a carrer advance ? Forget about it.
Auckland has one of thighest cost of living in world, similar to New York, and salaries are 30% less than paid in US.
Your choice.
May 17th, 2010 at 2:34 pm
i live in the uk, and whilst many people may not agree I do think it has a lot to offer however I think the one thing everyone can agree on is the poor weather, if you are a sun lover or even just want a little bit of warmth then I would say new zealand is so similar to the uk, gogousa scenery, friendly people but with a better climate, whatever you decide tho its up to you to make it work there are problems everywhere, good luck!!
May 19th, 2010 at 12:15 pm
I think given half a chance the majority of people would choose to at least give somewhere else a try…

I live in nz and I’m finding it a bit hard to get a job, they give all the cool jobs to back packers. Anyway now I study. I would never leave this place to live in another country.
July 5th, 2010 at 7:54 am
canada is heaven o earth , give it a try
July 12th, 2010 at 8:29 pm
Norway is great! Although Australia or New Zealand would be better because of the language and the tropical enviorment!
