I was out of the country (Canada) and living in Asia for 10 months.?
Post date: February 5th, 2010My company gave me a severance package so my unemployment was pro-longed. Now that I am back in Canada I re-opened my unemployment insurance. No one asked me if I left the country. Is this illegal that I re-started my claim???
Yes, it is a Federal offense, and you must speak to your insurance agent immediately. You can face up to 20 years in Prison, so I suggest you do it now. Make sure all the money is there because the spending of even 1 dollar will get you indicted.
