Where to take other countries flag to be properly retired?

At my Hotel Location, we display the following flags: USA, Canada, Company Brand. Recently during a bad storm, the Canada Maple Leaf flag that was up since late 2007 was victim to the winds and rain. As for the USA flag, we take old destroyed ones to a local VFW, where can I take this Canadian flag to give it the same treatment?

Canada doesn’t have the same flag destruction formality that is commonly found in the US. All our traditional protocol states is that the flag should be disposed of in a respectful manner. In most cases it’s as simple as just quietly tossing it in a fireplace, a bucket with some lighter fluid or on a camp fire. If you wanted to take it to your local VFW Post I’m sure they would treat it the same way they do with an American flag and, personally speaking, that would be appreciated but its not like anything special has to be done to it.

What should we do with Americans that live in our countries illegally?

There are towns in Mexico filled with American retirees. They come to our countries and retire here. My question is: these people did not live or work here, they did not pay taxes here, they did not make a significant contribution here, but they decided to enjoy our weather, beaches, mountains, people, food, etc. They use our roads, churches, hospitals, libraries, and parks. They also benefit from cheaper prices on medical, dental and vision services. Why, if they did not earn it? Are they entitled because they are Americans?

Yes, might come here legally as visitors, but if they remain here as they do they are also breaking the law. They are becoming illegals. Should they not get the same treatment "illegal aliens" get in the US? after all they are not legal permanent residents of the country they are "visiting". Should they be chased, raided just like immigrants are in the US?

By the way I love America and have a lot of American friends that I also love. I am just curious about the opinions of people who claim to be law abiding citizens and wonder what they think we should do with the aliens we have in our own countries. Yes, there are American illegal aliens in our countries as well.

All Americans are immigrants, they immigrated from Europe and then murdered innocent native American indians.

Where would be a good country to retire in?

Planning to retire in about 15 years.

I don’t need social security for my retirement. I can get it but don’t really need it.

If our country goes toward socialism and heavy taxation, I’m moving out. I love my country but may not agree with the government philosophies in the future.

Where would be a good country to retire in?

Also, am I the only one thinking this?

NEW ZEALAND CHECK IT OUT

what country’s in Europe can you live permanently with a English passport?

I have live in Perth Australia for the last 20yrs and wish for a change..I want to live somewhere with less violence and somewhere they care for the old, with respect a place where animals are not hurt by mindless idiots and a leader of the country sorts out problems in his own country instead of sweeping things under a carpet…does a place exist..?

Sweden is nice. Stockholm is probably my favorite city outside the US and I hear the beaches of Malmo are great in the summer (the sun is up until 11PM, so there’s plenty of time to visit, although the water is pretty cold).

No country is perfect, but Sweden is pretty good. With a UK passport, you have the right to live anywhere in the EU, with certain restrictions (you may have to work there for a while before you retire, I’m not sure about that though).

For law abiding US citizens, should American aliens be allowed to live in our countries when they retire? Why?

Those ex-pats spend a lot of money in the communities in which they live, which is why your government allows them to live there. The reason they retired there is to live frugally…they can be relatively wealthy in that area, whereas they’d have to spend much more in the US for approximately the same lifestyle. If they comply with the local laws, they are no more nor less entitled to enjoy the environment than anyone else who legally lives there. If they are in the country illegally, then they should be kicked out. However, I doubt that there’s a large number of US citizens who are retired and illegally living in another country, or in another country illegally and working. Certainly not nearly the percentage of people who are illegally living and working in the US.

And that answers your question about illegal aliens in the US, too. Illegal aliens are people who circumvent the law. The US does allow people of just about all nations to come and live here, as long as they comply with our laws. I don’t think that we have a large number of ex-pats from other countries who have retired here, either, our cost of living is pretty high.

What is the best country in Europe to live in?

I live in the USA but I want to move to Europe what is the best country in Europe to live in for Americans?

If you want a nice fresh air to wake up to everyday and see the mountains you should move to Austria. If you like shopping move to Italy, like Milan the shopping capital of the world. Hope you like soccer because that’s what Europeans mostly play :) Those are just a few ideas. I’m European and I’ve been to all the counties in Europe. Hope this helps
